[INFO]Taemin to act in Korean musical 'Goong' in Japan

Taemin is set to join the cast of 'Goong', a Korean musical to be performed in Akasaka ACT Theater, Tokyo, Japan from May 10 to May 24 (25 stages) this year. Taemin is one of the newly casted actors who will be playing the lead character, Crown Prince Lee Shin. Taemin's role as Lee Shin will be rotated with ZE:A's Dongjun and U-KISS's Soohyun, Kiseop, Kevin and Hoon. The musical will be performed in Korean, with Japanese subtitles.

Goong is a love story set in alternate reality involving a 21st century Korean imperial family. 'Goong' means palace, where most of the story takes place. In 2006, the original manhwa for Goong was adapted into a drama of the same title (English title: Princess Hours). The drama became a huge hit and was translated into 23 languages. A musical adaptation, Goong: The Musical, premiered in Yong Theater at the National Museum of Korea in September 2010. Due to its immense popularity in Japan, the musical is held every year there and never fails to be a hot issue because of its star-studded cast.

Taemin's character Lee Shin is the crown prince of the Korean imperial family who is betrothed to Shin Chaekyung, an ordinary high school girl, by both of their grandfathers. This love story focuses on the unhappy life the newlywed royal couple lead together as they grow and mature and eventually fall in love, despite having completely different upbringings.
